🌱 Sustainable School Development – Growing a Self-Sufficient Future
At Ereto East Africa Foundation (EEAF), we believe in creating long-term sustainability for our schools to ensure that children receive quality education, nutrition, and essential resources without relying solely on external support. To achieve this, we have implemented self-sustainability projects that empower schools to generate their own resources while benefiting students and the local community.
🌿 Expanding School Gardens
To enhance food security and nutrition, EEAF has significantly expanded its school gardens, where students and staff grow vegetables, fruits, and staple crops. These gardens supplement school meals, ensuring that children receive nutritious food while also teaching them agricultural skills for future self-reliance.
🐄 Dairy Farming for Nutrition & Sustainability
EEAF has also introduced dairy cows to provide a steady supply of fresh milk for students. This initiative helps improve children’s health and development by offering essential nutrients. Additionally, surplus milk can be sold to generate income, which supports school operations, teacher salaries, and facility improvements.
By combining education with practical sustainability projects, EEAF is creating a model where schools can thrive independently, ensuring that every child has access to quality education, proper nutrition, and lifelong skills for a better future. 🌍✨
